Workman Early College Academy Network WECAN
Take College Classes in High School
The Hacienda La Puente Unified School District provides students with opportunities
to earn college credits in high school through Workman Early College Academy Network.
The application for 2024-2025 school year is now open!
MISSION
It is the mission of the Early College Academy Network to provide an equal educational opportunity for each student to succeed to his/her highest potential; to foster intellectual and social development for all students in order to take advantage of students' individual abilities; to encourage the respect of self and others; and to help students become responsible, productive, and contributing members of society.
VISION
We seek to have our students experience a rigorous college preparatory high school education (CP/Honors, Advanced Placement, and Career Technical Education classes), augmented with concurrent direct access to fully transferable college-level courses in all academic disciplines. From this foundation, we expect each student to successfully matriculate to, and graduate from, a four-year university or college.
WHAT MAKES WECAN DIFFERENT?
The design principles of Workman Early College Academy Network (WECAN) can be seen through the honors and AP course works, appropriate support systems, and college courses for which they receive college units through Mt. SAC. Workman Early College Academy Network engages a wide spectrum of students, offering a rigorous curriculum that allows students to earn high school graduation and college credits simultaneously while immersing themselves in the full high school experience, including sports and extracurricular activities.
