Auto Tech is a competency-based course at Workman High School introduces students to the field of Automotive Repair and Maintenance. Students receive instruction in component identification, fault diagnosis and replacement, precision measuring, rebuilding and repair, adjustment and servicing procedures.

Sound Technology is an introduction to recording techniques for use in video and computer media applications. Topics include basic sound characteristics, microphones, single and multi-track recording techniques, and sound reinforcement and enhancement.

In the Sports Medicine Pathway, students learn about human anatomy and physiology by examining how systems of the body interact through physical activity and inactivity. The prevention, evaluation, treatment and rehabilitation of illness, disease and injury are explored. Scientific principles, mathematical concepts, practical applications and communication skills are taught through activity and performance-based approach. Modern health and scientific principles of care are presented and applied in various scenarios to develop cognitive and critical thinking skills.

THEATER

This course is designed to introduce students to theater practices, culture, and history.  Students will learn the following basic elements of theater: theater terminology, set design, lighting design, sound design, make-up design, basic costuming, acting, script writing, and directing.  Students will learn skills in voice management, stage movement, and characterization, read and analyze plays, participate in theater games, design and build technical elements, and participate in various student productions.  The goal of this class is to give students a feel for the overall theater experience. 

In this class, students will collaboratively produce a high-quality yearbook that captures the school year's events. Key responsibilities include designing the cover, title page, and section layouts, developing a page ladder, setting type and graphic standards, planning stories and photos, assigning content, editing pages, and meeting deadlines. Students will also manage yearbook and ad sales, as well as book distribution. Tools used include Adobe Photoshop, TreeRing, Excel, and digital cameras.
